Access your IP Phone with browser

When your IP phone are connected via the LAN/bridge of the AOX and therefore are outside of reach of your desktop then you can do the following if you want to do simple maintenance of your phone. It is adviced to switch off the access by default to minimise risks.

To access the gui of the IP phone via your browser you can do the following on the AOX and your PC.

On the AOX:

  1. go to system then go to network
  2. switch NAT and Forwarding to “On”
  3. Click ok. The network interface will reset! There is a small interruption which may lead to dropped call

On your PC:

  1. then create a static route on your switch or PC. If windows PC then do the following:
  2. open command dos prompt
  3. enter command: route add 192.168.1.0 MASK 255.255.255.0 10.0.1.2 10.0.1.2 (where 10.0.1.2 is the IP address of your phone and the 192.168.1.0 the LAN network of the AOX)

this will force all traffic to go to the PBX which has been instructed to forward and translated traffic from its devices it has connected on the LAN/eth1 interface.
