TAPI

On the PC / Laptop

The Axeos TAPI can be installed on your Windows PC or laptop. During this process configuration settings will be required.

The following screenshots indicates which settings are required:

In Axeos PBX Software Release 2 the following settings are required:

  • SIP devices / Extension - enter your phone extension (menu option 'Phones / Extension / Edit'), for example: 100
  • SIP devices / Caller ID Name - enter your name, for example: John White
  • Server / Host IP - enter the IP address of your Axeos (v)PBX, for example: 1.2.3.4
  • Server / Port - enter: 5038
  • Server / User - enter your phone extension (menu option 'Phones / Extension / Edit'), for example: 100
  • Server / Password - enter you phone password (menu option 'Phones / Extension / Edit'), for example: sa33J9hcs24bcF

In Axeos PBX Software Release 3 the following settings are required:

  • SIP devices / Extension - enter your physical phone SIP login (menu option 'Communication / Phones / Edit'), for example: p3s1w
  • SIP devices / Caller ID Name - enter your name, for example: John White
  • Server / Host IP - enter the IP address of your Axeos (v)PBX, for example: 1.2.3.4
  • Server / Port - enter: 5038
  • Server / User - enter your userid (menu option 'System / User Manager / Edit Phone User), for example: 100
  • Server / Password - enter you physical phone password (menu option 'Communication / Phones / Edit'), for example: sa33J9hcs24bcF

Once you have installed the TAPI you can verify or edit your configuration settings by going to the Windows control panel.

Go to 'Phone and Modem Options' and click on the Advanced tab.

Select the Axeos TAPI and click on 'Configure' to access the configuration screen above.

TIP: Use the 'Test connection to Server' button to verify if your settings are correct.

On the (v)PBX

To allow TAPI access for a (v)PBX phone or user the administrator will need to enable 'Application Access'.

In Axeos PBX Software Release 2 this option can be found at menu option 'Phones / Extension / Edit':

In Axeos PBX Software Release 3 this option can be found at menu option 'System / User Manager / Edit Phone User':
